Q: What age patients do you treat?
We love treating patients of all ages. Many of our patients span generations in one family. We offer comprehensive full family care out of our Apex office.
Q: When should I bring my child in?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit be by age 2. Depending on the special dental concerns of both children and adults, referral to a specialist may identify an individual best equipped to meet those needs.
Q: How do I know when it is time to come in for a checkup?
Typically dental recall appointments (checkups) should be scheduled every 6 months. During this visit, a professional cleaning will be performed along with a dental exam and necessary x-rays. This cleaning, exam, and x-ray set will ensure that problems are prevented before they become larger issues. Occasionally, a patient may be scheduled on a more frequent recall schedule, such as every 3 or 4 months. This schedule ensures that oral health is maintained and that a patient reaches a consistent level of good oral health.
Q: What can I expect at my first dental appointment?
Your initial visit will consist of a complete oral evaluation and set of x-rays necessary for diagnostic purposes. You will have an opportunity to discuss with you dentist any specific concerns you may have. This time opens a line of dialogue for you to express what your needs and wants are for your dental health, and it allows us to plan how we can help you achieve those goals. While this new patient scenario is typical, if you have a specific concern or emergency, give our office a call. We are interested in meeting the needs of our patients, whatever they may be.
